Rosarito,
A Pacific-coast plant-medicine centre that publishes no prices, disowns its founder's clinical authority in writing, and names one doctor.
The Holistic Sanctuary treats three to five clients at a time on a cliffside oceanfront estate at Rosarito, roughly thirty minutes south of the Tijuana border. Its organising idea is the founder's proprietary Pouyan Method: no prescription medication of any kind, no group therapy, no 12-step content, and treatment built on medically supervised ibogaine and ayahuasca work wrapped in cellular detoxification, intravenous nutrition, stem cell therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, an organic kitchen, bodywork, yoga and breathwork. Each client has a private master suite and an individual clinical team, for four to twelve weeks. The homepage describes pricing as transparent and all-inclusive, and the three package pages that would carry a figure returned an error when they were checked. One clinician is named in the whole organisation, and the company states in writing that its founder holds no medical degree, nursing licence or clinical certification. It is the same company as Sanctuary Tulum, which sells the same method at several times the price.
One clinician is named in the entire organisation. No psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist, addiction physician, nurse, chef or dietitian is named anywhere on the site.
Medical Director and Chair of the Medical Review Board, stated as reviewing every admission
Leadership
Founder, Chief Executive and Director of Operations, creator of the Pouyan Method. The company states he is not a physician and holds no medical degree or clinical certification
Leadership
No practitioner registration number, specialty, board certification, medical school or institutional affiliation is published for anyone.
Four weeks
-
The entry tier. A private master suite with an individual clinical team, medical screening on arrival, and the Pouyan Method core protocol of cellular detoxification, intravenous nutrition, organic diet, bodywork and movement, with plant medicine as clinically indicated.
Four to twelve weeks
-
The extended tier, adding depth of regenerative protocol, hyperbaric oxygen, stem cell therapy and extended intravenous infusion courses across a longer arc with additional ceremony cycles. The clinical differentiation from the entry tier beyond duration is not itemised on the live site.
Twelve weeks
-
The full-length tier, positioned for chronic relapse, long-term opioid or benzodiazepine dependence and treatment-resistant presentations, with the widest regenerative stack and the longest integration arc. The clinic states that this tier takes the building down to a single client. No third-party figure for it was located.
Delivered inside the residential packages
Included in the package fee
Delivered inside the residential packages with no separate price. The clinic publishes a twelve-lead ECG with measured QTc, a cardiac stress test and full bloodwork before dosing, continuous telemetry through dosing and into the following day, a physician present throughout and twenty-four-hour nursing. It states that the same protocol is rarely right for two people.
No public price found.
Review evidence for this clinic is unusually hard to attribute. The Yelp listing carries 53 reviews at 4.9 stars, but it sits at the group's United States mailing address in Beverly Hills rather than at the Mexican treatment facility, and the company itself acknowledges that further reviews sit in Yelp's filtered section and invites prospective clients to read them. No Google Business Profile for the Rosarito facility was located and there is no Trustpilot profile. On PissedConsumer, two critical reviews posted in December 2014 and August 2015 were removed on 14 February 2018 under that platform's Legitimacy Verification Program, with recorded findings that the statements were more likely than not false and abusive. A response posted under the founder's name in February 2013 alleges an extortion attempt and states that law enforcement was engaged. No documented resolution was found. Authenticity is contested and both positions are on the record. Salon reported in September 2016 that the group's Yelp reviews used suspiciously similar language and that negative reviewers were dismissed by the operator as frauds. The company states that it declines pay-to-play directory listings, does not litigate against reviewers and does not manipulate reviews. On litigation and regulatory action, nothing was found, and that is stated plainly as a finding in the clinic's favour. No lawsuit, court judgment, regulatory enforcement action, licence suspension or documented client death was located in English or Spanish searches, and the Better Business Bureau file records zero complaints. The adverse material on this operator is journalistic and platform-based, not legal. Mexican health-regulator enforcement records are not systematically searchable online, so absence of a public finding is not proof that none exists.

Salon, 9 September 2016, is the only substantial independent investigative treatment and it is critical. The Fix, 20 April 2017, ran a client-survey feature that was largely positive. Everything else located is press-release distribution or sponsored placement. The homepage carries a featured-in strip citing broadcasters and publishers alongside commercial rehab-directory logos; the broadcast items are media appearances, not editorial endorsements.
None claimed and none found.
A private cliffside oceanfront estate on the Pacific coast at Rosarito. Clients occupy private master suites rather than shared rooms, with the programme delivered one client to one clinical team. The gym, the massage terrace, the yoga deck and the pools all face the water, including an infinity pool above the ocean. The on-site medical and biohacking infrastructure is specified rather than gestured at: a Sechrist hyperbaric chamber, red light panels, an infrared sauna and an intravenous suite, plus an organic kitchen. What cannot be checked: no street address, room count, floor area or floor plan is published, and no third party has documented the property. Rosarito is a working border-tourism town roughly thirty minutes south of Tijuana on a busy coastal corridor. Several images on the facility-tour page carry alt text describing the group's facility in Tulum, which is a different property in a different Mexican state, so the published photography cannot be attributed to this address with confidence.
An organic kitchen prepares fresh meals daily, and the facility-tour photography shows fruit, salad, grilled fish, smoothies and fresh produce laid out on the kitchen counter. The published nutrition model is whole-food organic, described in 2016 reporting as vegan and GMO-free, with juice cleansing, wheatgrass and supplementation integrated into the detoxification protocol. No chef is named. No nutritionist or dietitian is named. No dietary, micronutrient or food-sensitivity testing is described, and no hygiene certification, kitchen registration or culinary credential is published. Nutrition is clinically central to the method, and the published detail is thinner than at the group's sister property.
single occupancy per residence
Three to five clients are on the estate at a time, each in a private master suite with an individual clinical team, with no group sessions and no shared clinical spaces. The gym, the massage terrace, the yoga deck and the pools are shared amenities of one estate, and the clinic publishes no separate entrances, no duplicated communal space, no staggered arrivals and no individual transport. A client here can encounter another client, so the level established is single occupancy per residence. The separately priced Platinum tier is stated to take the building down to a single client. No documented leak of a client stay was found: no privacy incident, no named client and no press exposure of an admission. Cutting the other way, and materially: the company publishes sixteen filmed client video testimonials, directs clients to leave named public reviews, and a response posted under the founder's name disputed critical reviews in 2013. No confidentiality policy, staff protocol, device policy or media policy is published anywhere. That is a different privacy posture from a clinic that will not confirm an admission.
Headline basis: Public evidenceThe headline number is the public score, not the extended score., LROAS 1.0.0, edition 2026-10-01
Public-evidence total: 37
The sum of the ten criterion scores, from 10 to 100, using evidence anyone can check, including the clinic's own pages as self-declared statements. For the licence element of C2 only, it can also use an authority ruling held in our sealed evidence room. It is the only number used for the rank.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium. ProvisionalA check was still open when the edition closed, for example a register lookup or a video not yet received, or evidence under embargo.: C10.
The programme has no group therapy anywhere, every therapy hour is one-to-one, and each client has a private master suite, but the standard offer places several clients in one Rosarito estate sharing a kitchen, gym, pools and terraces, which is band 6. The higher band needs ensuite bedrooms, and the clinic's pages confirm private suites without saying anything about bathrooms. The separately priced Platinum package takes the building down to a single client, a sole-occupancy tier that adds one, giving 7. No contradiction deduction applies, and the non-disclosure agreement signed at enrolment is a client term, not a mechanism that keeps clients apart.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
A physician holds the stated Medical Director role for this site, and the clinic describes twenty-four-hour nursing, nursing overnight and on-site withdrawal management under a medical professional directing care. No institutional licence for the Rosarito site appears on any public register; the COFEPRIS licence number published on the group's Tulum site belongs to that facility, and an operator's own statement does not prove a licence. With no licence and no psychiatric care by a psychiatrist stated for this site, bands 4 and above are not open, and on-site detox does not change that. The stated cardiologist and neurologist name no site, and the transfer route names no hospital.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
Every guest is medically screened before arrival, a twelve-lead ECG with measured QTc, cardiac stress testing, telemetry and full bloodwork precede dosing, and the Medical Director reviews every clearance. These three elements give band 5. No psychiatrist is named, no physician medication review or physician examination is stated, and no structured psychiatric or psychometric assessment or written formulation is published, which keeps the clinic below band 6.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
Twenty-four-hour clinical presence is described, with clinical staff physically present overnight, a dedicated team per client and counsellors who do not rotate. The published hour figures, such as up to 150 hours of private holistic sessions, count holistic treatments such as massage, Reiki and IV infusions rather than sessions with a clinician, so one-to-one clinical contact hours are not established for a higher band. Stays are clinically extendable, so no fixed-package cap applies, and the group share is zero.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
The clinic publishes a written discharge plan with a named person responsible, and ninety days of structured aftercare that it states it runs itself, planned from week one. These three elements give band 4. The delivery channel, provider and fee inclusion of the aftercare are not stated, and no alumni service, outcome tracking or published follow-up schedule is described, which keeps the clinic below band 5.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
Two violations are found on group-controlled domains. The group's Tulum site publishes a founder-authored list of the ten best luxury rehabs that puts its own property first and second, and its As Featured In strip names outlets where no matching article was found. Two positive signals stand against them: published statements of who the clinic is not the right fit for, on medical grounds and where the person is not arriving by their own decision. No clinic-published price counts, because every package is listed as call for prices and the Silver starting figure is a floor, and no referral-fee position is published. Two violations without a machine-directed instruction give band 2.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: low
Two elements are met: an all-inclusive price statement covering accommodation, therapy, medical oversight, meals and airport transfer, with package exclusions listed, and published limits stating the clinic is not a hospital and naming presentations it refers out. Refund terms exist but payment and deposit terms do not, early-departure credit is stated without extension terms, and no licence number, registered legal entity, ownership record, complaints route, inspection results or record-handling terms are published; the clinic's own page carries an unfilled note to publish the entity name and licence number. Two elements give band 3, and one point is deducted for a founding-date contradiction: the clinic gives a 2011 opening, while bylined reporting from 2016 gives 2009.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
No court judgment, regulator decision or inquiry determination against the operator within ten years was found in English or Spanish searches, and the Better Business Bureau file records zero complaints in three years. No statutory inspection record, no first-hand bylined report within five years and only one retrievable independent review platform are available, so no positive safety element lifts the band. The 2016 bylined reporting and removed consumer reviews remain allegations and score nothing, and the clinic's own statement of zero serious incidents is self-reported.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: low
The environment and safety score is band 4: the estate carries a hyperbaric chamber, sauna, IV suite, gym, pools and yoga deck, with twenty-four-hour nursing and planned visits. Emergency access within 30 minutes is not credited because the residence address is unpublished, so the route from town level cannot be tied to the residence, and no value exists for the brand's Tulum site. Resuscitation equipment is mentioned without a defibrillator or life-support training, and the medication policy does not cover alcohol-free status or storage. The nutrition score is band 2: meals are organic and chef-prepared, but no nutrition professional, assessment or clinical protocol is published, and juice cleansing protocols do not count. The mean of 4 and 2 is 3.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: low
One clinician is named with a role at this site, the Medical Director, whose stated surgery and critical care credentials are unconfirmed; the Mexican professional licence and specialist certificate lookups have not been completed. The facility licence is not proven, because the establishment licence dataset returned an error and COFEPRIS offers no public lookup. Other named people are content reviewers or non-clinical, and nurses and rotating doctors are unnamed, so no verified clinical seniority counts and the index is band 1.
ProvisionalA check was still open when the edition closed, for example a register lookup or a video not yet received, or evidence under embargo.: Clinician register lookups for this criterion were still open at the edition cut-off (see known_gaps). The points count as assessed on the evidence available; the band may change when the lookups are completed, which is resolved in a later edition.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
The clinic names three tiers, a four-week Silver package, a four to twelve week Gold package and a twelve-week Platinum package. No price is published for any of them: the package pages carry a call-for-prices line, and the pricing pages checked in September 2026 returned an error while the homepage advertises transparent, all-inclusive pricing with no hidden extras. No independent figure is published that a reader can trace to a named source, so treat any number quoted elsewhere as unverified. Private pay only. Ask for the current rate card in writing before proceeding.
A private cliffside oceanfront estate on the Pacific coast at Rosarito, Baja California, roughly thirty minutes south of the Tijuana border crossing and a little over an hour from San Diego. The grounds include pools, an infinity pool, a gym, a yoga deck and a massage terrace facing the ocean, with a hyperbaric chamber, infrared sauna and intravenous suite on site. No street address is published. Rosarito is a working tourist and border town rather than a secluded retreat.
People with long opioid, alcohol, benzodiazepine or stimulant dependence, chronic relapse histories, or treatment-resistant depression, PTSD and trauma, who specifically want a programme that uses no prescription medication of any kind and no group therapy. Three to five clients are on site at once in private master suites for four to twelve weeks. It is not suitable for anyone needing psychiatric medication management, structured psychotherapy such as CBT, DBT or EMDR, or family therapy, none of which are part of the published model.
The founder states he is personally involved in every admission while making no clinical decisions, and the medical director reviews every admission. Screening includes a twelve-lead ECG with measured QTc and full bloodwork before any ibogaine administration, and the company states that some people who want to come are not cleared. Anyone on benzodiazepines or opioids undergoes a supervised transition. No waiting time is published. Contact is by phone, messaging or email, with an online application form.
The residential programme runs four to twelve weeks with integration built into the stay. The clinic states that discharge planning begins in week one and that ninety days of structured aftercare follow, with a written plan and a named person responsible for it. Beyond that, no defined follow-up schedule, alumni service or outcome-tracking methodology is published. The company's own success-rate claims are self-reported and unaudited, and its site carries an explicit disclaimer that no outcome is guaranteed.
