Zurich,
A lakeside Zurich clinic where a single client occupies each of three residences, supported by a team of fifteen who work for no one else.
Three private residences, one client in each, and a dedicated team of fifteen professionals per client: that is the structural fact everything else at Paracelsus Recovery follows from. Founded in 2012 by Jan Gerber and his family on the Utoquai lakefront, the clinic runs a 360 degree model that integrates psychiatry, functional and laboratory medicine, psychotherapy, nutrition and complementary therapy into one plan rather than a menu of parallel services. Clients live in a roughly 250 square metre penthouse with a live-in therapist, a private chef and a dedicated hospitality team. There is no group therapy, and each residence is occupied by one client at a time. The clientele is ultra-high-net-worth: executives, founders, heirs, public figures and royalty.
Approximately sixty individuals are named on the clinic's own team page with credentials. The list below gives the leadership, clinical, nutrition and complementary-therapy roster; hospitality staff are named on the same page and are not listed here.

Four to six weeks, customised to the client
CHF 110,000 per week
Bespoke residential treatment in a private penthouse with a twenty-four hour live-in therapist, a personal psychiatrist and a team of at least fifteen. Begins with psychiatric assessment, extensive laboratory and genetic testing and medically supervised detoxification where needed, followed by daily one-to-one therapy, functional medicine and medication management.
Seven days
CHF 130,000 per week
Medically assisted withdrawal in the client's residence with twenty-four hour medical supervision and a live-in therapist throughout. The team includes a psychiatrist, a psychotherapist, a medical doctor, a functional medicine doctor and a clinical nurse coordinator. Built for clients who need the medical phase compressed and covered.
Seven days
CHF 130,000 per week
Blood work, full-body MRI, whole-genome sequencing, twenty-four hour ECG, EEG and psychiatric evaluation, delivered with private residence accommodation and a private chef for the week. The written report follows four to six weeks after the stay. It works as a diagnostic entry point rather than as treatment.
Three days
CHF 31,000 per programme (excludes Accommodation.)
Over one hundred diagnostic assessments, a mental health evaluation and a physical examination, producing an elaborate written report with recommendations. Accommodation, treatments and wellness therapies are not included, which is why it costs sharply less than the seven-day version. It is the clinic's lowest-cost entry point.
A few weeks to a year or more
From CHF 2,500 per day
A priced programme rather than a referral. It covers continued one-to-one therapy, remote or in-person psychiatrist sessions and medication management, family and couples therapy, and the option to place a live-in therapist in the client's own home. The team works directly with the client's existing doctors, wherever the client lives.

The verifiable review base is modest and there is no Trustpilot presence, which is the expected pattern for a clinic whose clients sign confidentiality agreements and do not review publicly. No evidence of review manipulation was found, and the press record is materially stronger than the review record.
The verifiable review base is modest and there is no Trustpilot presence, which is the expected pattern for a clinic whose clients sign confidentiality agreements and do not review publicly. No evidence of review manipulation was found, and the press record is materially stronger than the review record.
Coverage disproportionate to the clinic's size, including the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, Forbes, the BBC, Bloomberg Linea, Business Insider, Tatler, Vice, The National, Khaleej Times and SonntagsZeitung. The chief executive gives named on-record interviews rather than briefing anonymously.
No clinical award was found. Reputation rests on the press record rather than on awards.
Three private penthouse residences of approximately 250 square metres each, named Harmonia, Equilibria and Serenitas, on the Utoquai lakefront in Zurich's District 8, with an adjacent clinic space used for medical work. Each residence has a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, living space and dedicated therapy rooms, and takes one client plus a live-in therapist. Views are over Lake Zurich and the Alps. There is no on-site pool or spa. The clinic provides access to the spa at The Dolder Grand a few minutes away, and a dedicated car with a private driver on twenty-four hour call. Housekeeping is daily, with twice-daily service on request. The setting is urban lakefront rather than a secluded estate, and there are no grounds.
A private chef is assigned to each client and cooks in that client's own penthouse kitchen, so there is no shared dining room and no catering kitchen. Four chefs are named on the public team page, which is rare at this price point, where chefs are usually anonymous. Menus are built by the in-house nutrition team, a nutritional scientist (MSc, MPH, RND) and a registered dietitian (MSc, RDN), against the client's laboratory results, intolerances, deficiencies and medical conditions. The clinic calls this psychonutrition and treats diet as an active instrument of the treatment plan rather than as hospitality, which follows directly from the functional-medicine positioning. No hygiene finding, complaint or incident appears in any source reviewed.
single occupancy per residence
Each of the three residences is occupied by one client, with a live-in therapist. There is no group therapy of any kind, therapy is delivered inside the client's own residence in dedicated therapy rooms, meals are cooked there by a private chef, and transport is by a dedicated driver. Named confidentiality measures beyond statute include redaction of the client's name in internal records, untraceable licence plates, encrypted communications and confidentiality agreements for clinical, hospitality and administrative staff. Arrival and departure separation is not published as a procedure, and medical care and fitness take place at the clinic space shared across the three residences. First-hand reporting records never more than three clients in care at once, and one account records up to four with one client staying at a neighbouring hotel, so the clinic's own one-client-at-a-time wording is not the whole picture.
Headline basis: Public evidenceThe headline number is the public score, not the extended score., LROAS 1.0.0, edition 2026-10-01
Public-evidence total: 61 · With clinic-supplied information: 66
The sum of the ten criterion scores, from 10 to 100, using evidence anyone can check, including the clinic's own pages as self-declared statements. For the licence element of C2 only, it can also use an authority ruling held in our sealed evidence room. It is the only number used for the rank.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium. ProvisionalA check was still open when the edition closed, for example a register lookup or a video not yet received, or evidence under embargo.: C10.
The clinic runs three named residences (Harmonia, Equilibria, Serenitas), each for one client, and its therapy list contains no group therapy, which establishes single occupancy per residence. The clinic space used for medical care and fitness sits outside the residences and is reached by driver, so it is shared across residences by scheduling, and separation at arrival and departure is not published; this keeps the level at single occupancy per residence. The clinic's 'one person at a time' statement and press figures of three or four clients on site are read as one client per residence against a site total across three residences, a difference of unit rather than a contradiction, so no deduction applies. The top band is not reachable because no official capacity record per address is published by the Canton of Zurich.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
The Impressum states a medical licence issued by the health authority of the Canton of Zurich, with no licence number and no category, and the canton publishes no list of permit holders. Sealed evidence supports C2.G1 (licensing): an authority ruling held in the sealed evidence room, not yet inspected, whose content is not published. A Medical Director and a Lead Psychiatrist, both physicians, are named on the team page, and the FAQ page places direct clinical responsibility with the Chief Medical Officer (G2). Medically supervised withdrawal is delivered in the residence (G4), non-psychiatric care is covered by a medical doctor and a cardiologist (G5), and the FAQ page names Hirslanden Private Hospital Group and University Hospital Zurich as escalation hospitals (G6). G1, G2 and three of G3 to G8 give band 7. Band 8 needs a fourth: G3 is not met, because the FAQ's on-call night doctor is not stated as part of the standard fee and the price page lists 24-hour doctor or psychiatrist presence as a separately charged extra; no accreditation or complex-psychiatry programme is published.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
The FAQ page offers a paid 60-minute consultation with the named Head Psychiatrist, with a written report, before committing to treatment (E1). Admission begins with psychiatric assessment (E2), extensive medical check-ups (E5) and laboratory tests (E4); the residential fee includes genetic testing and the psychiatry page describes diagnosis that integrates genomics, neuroimaging and biomarker analysis (E6), and a three-day assessment is sold as a named product (E8). A 2024 bylined visit observed blood testing, body-composition scanning and consultation rooms on site. Six elements including E2, E4 and E5 give band 8. Band 9 needs a written multidisciplinary formulation or diagnostic report delivered to the client in the residential pathway (E7), which is not published.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
The residential page publishes at least 8 to 12 hours of one-to-one care a day, but the same sentence includes live-in and complementary therapists, so the figure is an undivided care figure and not counted as one-to-one clinical contact. What remains is a dedicated team of at least fifteen professionals per client and a 24-hour live-in therapist, with no session count and no sample schedule, which places the clinic in band 5. Higher bands need a countable clinical contact figure, and the top band also a sample schedule with independent corroboration.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
Aftercare is a priced programme from CHF 2,500 per day rather than a referral, covering continued individual therapy, remote or in-person psychiatrist sessions with medication management, family and couples therapy, a live-in therapist option at home and direct work with the client's existing doctors: five elements. The band above is not reached because no defined aftercare duration is published (the page says a few weeks up to a year or more) and six months of structured contact is not set out.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
The integrity sweep found no violation: no ranking or text addressed to AI assistants on any clinic-controlled domain, and the press page lists fifteen outlet items each linked to the outlet's own domain, with no award presented as accreditation and no sponsored or fee-based item. Two positive signals are published: per-programme prices in five currencies without negotiable or on-application wording (P1), and a voluntary-admission policy on the FAQ page (no one is admitted against their will, and family contact is handled by checking the client's awareness and willingness) (P4). A clean sweep with two signals gives band 6. Band 7 needs a third: the refund if a client is found unsuitable is not a stated policy that unsuitable admissions are declined or referred elsewhere (P3), and no referral-fee position is published (P2). Interventions outside a licensed indication are recorded but not scored under this criterion.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
Two transparency elements are met: prices with inclusions and exclusions on the prices page, and the operating entity PRC Group AG with its registration number on the Impressum, which gives band 3. No licence number or register link, no ownership statement (an audited LIMES report shows a 56 percent holding), no readable refund terms or complaints route and only a website privacy policy are published. Two deductions apply: the still-live programmes page gives lower fees for the same programmes than the prices page (for example CHF 95,000 against CHF 110,000 per week), and the commercial register records the seat at Utoquai 43, Zurich since a June 2026 statute change while the Impressum still gives Wollerau as the registered address. Band 3 less 2 gives 1.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
Searches of court, regulator and tribunal sources for the brand and the operating entity found no finding and no open case within ten years, and a bylined several-day first-hand account in The National (7 June 2024) falls within five years with no adverse finding. The band above is not reached: no inspection record exists for the site because the Canton of Zurich publishes no inspection results for licensed institutions outside its hospital list and the clinic is not on the Zurich hospital list, and the clinic has no Trustpilot profile. The 2019 VICE visit is older than five years and not used for the recent-account test.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
Environment and safety scores four elements: dedicated therapy and treatment space in each residence, in-house housekeeping, family participation in therapy and a recent bylined first-hand account. Nutrition scores three: a private chef working with a nutritional scientist and a registered dietitian, and a nutritional assessment in the fee. The band is the mean of the two parts. Time to an emergency department is not met because the drive to Universitaetsspital Zurich was measured from the Utoquai 43 clinic address, and the residences' street addresses are not published.
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: high
The lead psychiatrist and five further psychiatrists are confirmed on the Swiss medical register with the specialist qualification in psychiatry and psychotherapy, canton of authorisation Zurich, and a senior academic (a Nobel laureate professor, confirmed by a university profile) sits on the advisory board, giving a deep verified team with senior academic involvement. All gating conditions for the band are met. The top band is not reached because the withheld index is below the band 10 range; the team page gives titles only, without register numbers or time shares, and the facility licence is not proven on a public register. The advisory board member counts at full weight through a clinic video (role board_member_with_video) that is embargoed evidence (paracelsus-recovery-ev-embargoed-001), released before publication. Without it the member would count at 0.25 and leave the core; the index would then fall into the band 6 range, which sets the band at 6 (the G-c gate ceiling is 7).
ProvisionalA check was still open when the edition closed, for example a register lookup or a video not yet received, or evidence under embargo.: Supporting evidence under embargo, released before publication: the clinic video on which the advisory board member's full weight rests (paracelsus-recovery-ev-embargoed-001, SCORING.md section 6.4). Clinician register lookups for this criterion were also still open at the edition cut-off (see known_gaps).
ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: medium
The residential programme is CHF 110,000 per week. The seven-day Executive Detox and the seven-day Comprehensive Health Check-Up are each CHF 130,000 per week. A three-day Comprehensive Health Assessment without accommodation is CHF 31,000, and aftercare starts at CHF 2,500 per day as a guideline. Prices are published in CHF, GBP, EUR, AED and USD, and cover treatment, residence, chef, driver and the team. Travel, accompanying guests, leisure, unrelated medical emergencies, a 24-hour doctor or psychiatrist presence and hospitalisation are billed separately. Full prepayment is required before admission.
Utoquai 43, in Zurich's District 8, directly on the Lake Zurich waterfront. Clients live in one of three private penthouses of roughly 250 square metres each, named Harmonia, Equilibria and Serenitas, with views over the lake and the Alps. An adjacent clinic space handles medical work, and hospital-based assessments are run with Zurich hospitals. There is no on-site spa: clients have access to the spa at The Dolder Grand a few minutes away, reached by a dedicated car and driver.
Ultra-high-net-worth individuals whose position makes conventional treatment impossible: chief executives, founders, heirs, public figures and royalty. The model exists because these clients cannot sit in a group programme, cannot appear on a shared schedule, and often arrive with a medical picture entangled with the psychiatric one. Conditions treated span addiction, behavioural addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, burnout, personality disorders, eating disorders and chronic metabolic illness, with a strong dual-diagnosis and functional-medicine orientation.
An enquiry reaches a client relations team available twenty-four hours a day. Medical reports are reviewed, a call is arranged to design the plan, and the clinic then confirms the next available admission date. Full prepayment secures the place. Because there are three residences and each is held by one client for four to six weeks, admission dates depend on discharges, so the practical wait runs in weeks rather than days. No waiting time figure is published.
Aftercare is a priced programme rather than a referral, from CHF 2,500 per day as a guideline. It covers continued one-to-one therapy, psychiatric review and medication management, family and couples therapy, and the option to place a live-in therapist in the client's own home for a defined period. Continuing care is delivered wherever the client lives, and the team works directly with the client's existing doctors. Aftercare runs from a few weeks to a year or more.
