About Olive Hill Clinique

Olive Hill Clinique opened to clients in March 2024 on a 10-hectare hillside of olive, citrus and palm groves at Oumnass, about half an hour by road from Marrakech Menara International Airport, with the Atlas Mountains on one side and the Agafay desert on the other. The build produced 30 bedrooms, an on-site detoxification unit, a medical unit and infirmary, nursing stations, an in-house pharmacy and a repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation centre. The clinical programme is a dense four to six week residential course delivered in French, English and Arabic, combining cognitive behavioural therapy, twelve step facilitation and motivational interviewing with eye movement therapy, hypnotherapy, equine-assisted psychotherapy and daily group work. The clinic states that it is the only private establishment in Morocco authorised to dispense methadone, and it publishes its nightly rate in both room categories, which almost nothing else in this ranking does. It is a communal clinic rather than a discretion product: rooms may be on a single or double occupancy basis, a primary group runs every weekday, and the restaurant, pool, spa and sports facilities are shared. No licensing authority is named, no licence number is published, and no clinician registration number appears anywhere.

Treatments

Medically Managed Detoxification

Typically 3 to 10 days

EUR 1,000 per night double, EUR 1,500 single

Conducted in the clinic's own detoxification unit under 24-hour clinical supervision, with nursing stations and an in-house pharmacy on site. Methadone may be used in opioid detoxification and substitution, initiated, monitored and adjusted by addiction physicians. The stated aim is transition to abstinence with minimal discomfort before the therapeutic timetable begins.

Residential Treatment Programme

Four to six weeks, or longer on clinical advice

Residential, per night in a double room: EUR 1,000 per day (includes Accommodation, food, medical assessments, therapy sessions, fitness classes, holistic activities and one year of aftercare sessions.) · Residential, per night in a single room: EUR 1,500 per day (includes Accommodation, food, medical assessments, therapy sessions, fitness classes, holistic activities and one year of aftercare sessions.)

The core product. After the medical unit the client joins the community and an hour-by-hour weekly timetable: psycho-education blocks, a daily primary group, thematic groups, individual psychotherapy, art, music and yoga sessions, personal assignment work, equine-assisted therapy, aquagym, spa and structured excursions, plus twelve step meetings on weekday evenings.

Methadone-Assisted Opioid Programme

Within detoxification and residential care

Methadone is never prescribed alone. More →

One week

-

A structured week for clients who have already completed residential treatment, organised around themes common in early recovery: relapse pressure, identity, relationships and routine. The purpose is consolidation of abstinence and rebuilding quality of life rather than repeating the primary programme.

Family Therapy Week

One week, in person or remote

-

A structured week of family interaction that may extend to friends and work colleagues, run on the clinic's stated position that addiction is a problem of the whole family ecosystem. Families may also visit on Sundays during a residential stay, which is the only scheduled visiting window.

Nutrition Management Programme

Throughout residential care

Included in the nightly rate

Delivered by a named dietician and nutritionist with a named executive chef, using produce from the clinic's own vegetable garden. It is framed as teaching durable eating habits and re-establishing appetite and pleasure in food after dependence, rather than catering for the length of the stay. Halal food is available on request.

Discharge and One-Year Aftercare

Twelve months after discharge

Included in the nightly rate

A personalised aftercare plan is written before discharge, combining remote and in-person sessions with self-help and peer-group signposting, and the clinic states that one year of weekly aftercare sessions is included in the rate. Our assessment

The verifiable review base is 22 reviews on one platform. The clinic's Google Business Profile showed 4.6 out of 5 from 22 reviews when it was read on 8 September 2026, with review tags clustering on addiction treatment, mental health treatment, the clinical team and the setting. No Trustpilot profile exists. The provenance problem is the significant one. The reviews look genuine, but a meaningful share of the visible entries are not from clients. Several reviewers state that they were invited to visit the clinic along with other professionals in the field, and recommend it to their own clients. These are referrer and industry-visit accounts from a familiarisation trip rather than accounts of treatment. At least one visible review does read as a former client. Inviting referrers to inspect a new clinic is ordinary practice, but a base of this size weighted toward invited professionals cannot carry the weight of a client review base.

There is a real French-language and Arabic-language Moroccan footprint around the March 2024 opening, consistent across outlets on the substantive facts. Every one of those pages returned an error to direct retrieval during this research, so their content reaches this profile through search-index summaries rather than retrieved articles and is recorded as unverified by direct retrieval. One founder interview, credited to an editorial desk and dated 22 March 2024, was read in full. No first-hand reporting from inside the clinic was found.

None found. No industry award, no peer-reviewed outcome publication and no independent clinical accreditation.

Facility

Purpose-built and opened in 2024 on a 10-hectare hillside of olive, citrus and palm groves at Oumnass, with the Atlas Mountains on one side and the Agafay desert on the other, about 30 minutes from Marrakech Menara International Airport. Thirty bedrooms, on a single or double occupancy basis. The clinical infrastructure is more complete than most of its segment: a detoxification unit, a medical unit and infirmary, nursing stations, an in-house pharmacy and a repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation centre, plus individual and group therapy offices. Wellness and recreation run to a medical spa with a multisensory jacuzzi, cold-water bath, rain showers, steam room, sauna, massage cabins and a traditional Moroccan hammam, a beauty salon, an infinity pool, a fitness centre, a yoga and Pilates studio, art and music therapy rooms, a theatre and conference room, a cafe, a library, a convenience shop, a vegetable garden, horse stables with an equine therapy centre, and padel, soccer and basketball courts. Dining is in an indoor and outdoor panoramic organic restaurant. What the clinic cannot yet claim is a track record. No emergency transfer protocol and no receiving hospital arrangement is published.

Food

A properly resourced clinical function rather than a catering contract. The clinic employs a named Executive Chef and a named Dietician and Nutritionist, serves meals in an indoor and outdoor panoramic organic restaurant with Atlas views, and grows produce in its own vegetable garden. Halal food is available on request, and food is included in the nightly rate. Nutrition is run as a programme element in its own right, described as teaching durable dietary habits that clients keep after leaving rather than feeding people for the length of a stay. A cafe serves between meals. Not evidenced: any gourmet, hotel-school or comparable pedigree for the chef, any laboratory-based dietary or micronutrient testing, any individually prescribed nutritional protocol, any monitoring measurements during the stay, and any published food-safety inspection record.

Privacy

shared setting

What is established: this is a communal clinic and its clinical model is built on group work. A primary group runs every weekday, alongside psycho-education blocks, thematic groups, twelve step meetings on weekday evenings, a shared restaurant, a shared spa and shared sports facilities, group excursions and a desert camp taken with peers. Decisively, rooms may be on a double occupancy basis, meaning a client can share a bedroom with another client. Family visits are scheduled on Sundays. Anyone who requires that they never encounter another client is in the wrong building. Real protections exist and should be recorded. The clinic publishes a confidentiality policy under which medical information is shared only with the client, their treating doctor and any third party the client nominates. Phone and laptop use is restricted on admission and then supervised, mail is accepted and packages are opened in front of a staff member, a privacy notice is published, the estate is 10 private hectares half an hour from the nearest city, and admission is strictly voluntary, with no deprivation of liberty and no sedation. For a francophone and Gulf clientele, treatment in another country is itself a substantial practical privacy instrument. The limits: no client confidentiality undertaking is published, there is no compartmentalisation between clients, no single occupancy guarantee, and no discretion architecture of the kind a public figure would require.

C1 Client separation and occupancy · 2

The occupancy model is a shared community: after the medical unit, clients join the community in rooms that may be single or double occupancy, a double room is sold per night, a primary group runs every weekday, and the restaurant, pool, spa, sports facilities and group therapy offices are shared. That is band 2. The single-room price is not a sole-occupancy tier, because a single-room client still joins the community. Room and bed counts play no part in the band, and no contradiction about the model exists, so no deduction applies.

ConfidenceHow well the evidence supports the score.: low

C2 Clinical governance and medical cover · 4

A Medical Director and Head Psychiatrist is named, and the brochure describes a detox unit, medical unit, infirmary, nursing stations and pharmacy, with medically managed detoxification on site. Morocco has no public nominative list of authorised private clinics, so no register entry establishes a licence; the clinic's own licensing and methadone-authorisation statements name no authority. Detox is supervised around the clock, but no physician or psychiatrist is named for night cover, so overnight medical cover is not established and band 5 is not reached. No accreditation or named hospital escalation route is published.

Every client's programme is stated to include individual psychotherapy, but no session count or hours are published anywhere, and the published weekly timetable carries group and psycho-education blocks with no individual session slot. Two elements are met: payment and refund terms (payment in full on arrival, a refundable deposit, pro-rata refund from week three) and the operating company with its public identifier. Inclusions are listed but exclusions are not, extension fees are not stated, and the footer says fully licensed with no licence reference. Ownership, a complaints route to an external body, inspection results, a retention period in the privacy notice and a statement of conditions not treated are not published. The French FAQ omits a refund clause present in the English text, but the French page is authoritative for Morocco, so no contradiction is deducted.

Frequently asked questions

What does Olive Hill Clinique cost?

The clinic publishes its rate openly, which almost nothing else in this ranking does: EUR 1,000 per night in a double room and EUR 1,500 per night in a single, plus a refundable EUR 1,000 security deposit taken at booking. The clinic does not publish a total price for a full programme. The rate is stated to cover accommodation, food, medical assessments, therapy, fitness classes, holistic activities and one year of aftercare sessions. Payment is by bank transfer or card, in full before or on arrival, and the clinic says private insurance may apply without naming an insurer.

Where is it and what is the setting?

A 10-hectare hillside of olive, citrus and palm groves at Oumnass, Tameslouhte, about 30 minutes by road from Marrakech Menara International Airport, with the Atlas Mountains on one side and the Agafay desert on the other. Marrakech has direct air links to most major European, African, Gulf and Middle Eastern cities. Acute hospital care is in Marrakech itself, 30 to 40 minutes away. The clinic publishes no transfer protocol and names no receiving hospital of its own.

Who is the clinic designed for?

Adults of 18 and over, voluntarily seeking treatment for substance dependence, behavioural addiction or a co-occurring mental health condition, who want that treatment in French, English or Arabic. It was built for the Moroccan, francophone and Gulf markets. It is a communal, group-based programme, so it suits people who can work inside a peer group. It is the wrong setting for anyone who requires no contact with other clients, and rooms may be shared.

What is the admission process?

Admission starts with a confidential evaluation by a trained professional to assess suitability and circumstances. Clients must be 18 or over and must apply willingly. The clinic admits nobody by force, and there is no deprivation of liberty and no sedation. Self-referral is accepted, as is referral by a treating clinician, family or friends, and pre-admission visits are encouraged. On arrival a multidisciplinary medical, nursing and psychotherapeutic team assesses need, a full medical work-up is performed, and an individualised plan is written and agreed with the client before treatment begins.

What happens afterwards?

A personalised aftercare plan is written before discharge, and the clinic states that one year of weekly aftercare sessions is included in the nightly rate, combining remote and in-person sessions with encouragement toward self-help and peer groups, plus a virtual reality aftercare environment the clinic promotes as a continuing-care channel. Two structured post-residential offerings exist: a week-long consolidation programme organised around themes common in early recovery, and a family therapy week that can be attended in person or remotely. Families may also visit on Sundays during the stay.
